Prosperous Partnership: Which Liyue character should you choose in Lantern Rite for Genshin Impact 2.4?
By Andrew Lin
Lantern Rite is returning in Genshin Impact 2.4, and one of the best features in the event is the opportunity to get any four-star Liyue character to add to your team. With so many great characters and even a brand new one to choose from, who should you invite? Let’s take a look at all of the Prosperous Partnership characters.
Prosperous Partnership Guide: Which Liyue character should you choose in Lantern Rite for Genshin Impact 2.4?
Which character is best for you will depend on the characters you already have and the roles you need fulfilled. I would recommend considering characters you don’t already have, as it opens up more combinations you can play with.
Some characters get a huge power increase when they reach a certain Constellation, so there’s no shame in choosing a character you already have to give them a power up.
We’ll take a look at each character’s strengths and what other characters they play well with to help you determine their role in your collection.
Xiangling- Pyro Polearm
Everyone should have Xiangling, as she’s given to you when you clear one of the early levels of Spiral Abyss. She’s one of the best Pyro characters (maybe the best) and gets significantly stronger at C4, making it worthwhile to collect multiples of her.
She’s flexible as a Pyro support for Hydro and Cryo auto-attackers, and is a great DPS in her own right. Xiangling is one of the rare Pyro characters that can apply Pyro from off field, helping Anemo characters run Viridescent Venerer support.
Get another Xiangling if you’re intending on upgrading her to C4.
Beidou- Electro Claymore
A flexible Burst support, Beidou has an Elemental Burst that is unparalleled for dealing with crowds of enemies. She works best with Hydro attackers, and gets her biggest power upgrade at C2. She’s great against the Electro Rift Hounds that can give some players trouble.
Get Beidou if you need a powerful Electro support, or if you enjoy parrying attacks.
Xingqiu- Hydro Sword
If you don’t already have Xingqiu, get him. He is single handedly the best Burst Support in the game. His Elemental Burst creates a coordinated attack with massive scaling that applies Hydro quickly when you do a Normal Attack. Paired with an Elemental auto-attacker, you can trigger Hydro-based reactions to deal massive damage.
Invite Xingqiu. Just do it.
Ningguang- Geo Catalyst
Besides Arataki Itto, Ningguang is the game’s only other Geo auto-attacker save for some quirky builds of Noelle. She can deal tons of Geo damage quickly, and her Elemental Burst has some pretty high scaling.
Ningguang can take full advantage of the Geo Resonance from having two Geo units on a team. It increases Shield Strength, but more importantly increases the damage of characters in a shield by 15% while reducing the Geo Resistance of enemies by 20%.
Get Ningguang if you need a Geo DPS unit to go with another Geo support.
Chongyun- Cryo Claymore
Chongyun is a unique support. His Skill creates a Cryo field that infuses your melee characters’ attacks with Cryo. One of his Passive talents increases the attack speed of characters in the field as well.
Go for Chongyun if you want quick Cryo applications to support Pyro or Hydro characters.
Xinyan- Pyro Claymore
Xinyan has a more niche kit. She works best with Physical attackers, as her shield increases Physical DMG to those in it. Her C4 causes her Elemental Skill’s initial hit to reduce Physical Resistance as well.
Invite Xinyan if you need to provide shields for a Physical DPS.
Yun Jin- Geo Polearm
The newest four-star Yun Jin is a flexible unit that can provide support for a variety of teams. Similar to Beidou, she has an Elemental Skill that can function as a counter. Her Elemental Burst gives all characters a Normal Attack buff that scales off Yun Jin’s Defense stat. One of Yun Jin’s Passive Talents increases this buff based on how many different Elements you have with her.
Get Yun Jin if you want a brand new character, or if you don’t plan on Wishing for Xiao or Shenhe.
Yanfei- Pyro Catalyst
Similar to Klee, Yanfei dishes out Pyro attacks quickly and has powerful Charged Attacks. Her kit increases her own Pyro damage, and she’s a respectable DPS unit.
Invite Yanfei if you need a Pyro auto-attacker.
Nationals Team
I’m not exactly sure why this comp is called Nationals. I’ve heard it’s because this team is popular in China, and is considered one of the best team compositions. The team is made of Xiangling, Xingqiu, Chongyun and Bennett. The idea is that you abuse everyone’s Elemental Bursts while triggering Freeze/Melt/Vaporize reaction.
Luckily, three of the four characters are from Liyue. If you’re missing any of Xiangling, Xingqiu or Chongyun, I would highly recommend inviting the one you’re missing to assemble this all four-star team.
