On January 28, 2022, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will launch on PlayStation 5. This bundle will include remastered versions of Naughty Dog’s blockbuster PS4 games Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

On PS5, these games will include three graphical options: Performance Mode, which targets a 60 FPS frame rate; Performance+ Mode, which drops the resolution a bit and targets 120fps at 1080p resolution; and Fidelity Mode, which emphasizes stunning graphical detail at native 4K resolution with a 30fps target framerate.

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection bundle harnesses the PS5 hardware for near instant load times and utilizes the DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for improved rumble and resistance feelings.

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will cost $49.99 on PS5.

But what if you already own Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy on PlayStation 4? Good news, you’ll be eligible for an upgrade to the PS5 version, although it won’t be free.

On January 28, 2022, anyone who owns Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End & Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Digital Bundle for PS4 will have the option to pay $10 to upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Digital Version. It sounds like this upgrade will grant the entire bundle, even if you only own one of the games.

Unfortunately, this discounted upgrade will not apply to those who obtained Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End via PlayStation Plus. There’s another caveat as well, and that’s whether or not you own a physical copy or digital version on PS4.

Sony notes:

"Owners of PS4 disc copies must insert them into the PS5 every time they want to download or play the PS5 digital versions."

This means if you own the PS4 game disc but purchased a PS5 Digital Edition you will not be able to upgrade to the PS5 version at the discounted price. The reason for this is because of the disc requirement and the PS5 Digital Edition is a disc-free console, so there’s no place to insert the disc. It’s disappointing but nothing unexpected.
