Retailers have been hosting their Black Friday sale pretty much all month long both in stores and online; however, the actual day, Friday, November 26, will still see shoppers rush to stores in hopes of securing the best deals and savings of the year. Many will be heading into the frenzy in hopes of buying a PlayStation 5 this year. Released last year, the PS5 is one of this year’s hottest gifts — but will you be able to find one?

Where to find a PS5 on Black Friday in 2021?

In announcing their Black Friday sales, very few retailers have actually mentioned a PlayStation 5 console. While you can find deals on games and accessories, the console itself will not be discounted this year.

Chip shortages and high demand for the console have resulted in the PS5 being out of stock across retailers, both in store and online. If you’re hoping to buy a PS5 on Black Friday, you might be out of luck.

As of this writing, the console is unavailable online at most of the largest retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target and Best Buy. It’s possible inventory could be restocked so you may want to keep those pages bookmarked and refresh them frequently. Walmart, for example, restocked the PS5 this past Monday, November 21, but it sold out almost immediately.

There’s also the PS5 Digital Edition for $399.99 at Amazon, Walmart, Target and Best Buy as well, but it’s the same deal. Sold out everywhere.

This is only online though, what about in stores?

Will the PS5 be sold in stores on Black Friday?

I probably wouldn’t bet on heading to a store and finding the PlayStation 5 in stock. Last year, purchases had to be made online and then picked up at store or delivered. This was mostly due to the pandemic and having to avoid large crowds but it no doubt helped alleviate the chaos as well. We don’t need people brawling over the last console on a shelf.

Bottom line, if you’re looking for a PlayStation 5 this Black Friday, you’re going to have to be extremely lucky. Retailers typically give some sort of advance notice when they will restock online but they sell out quickly.
