For those who have gotten to play Call of Duty: Vanguard so far, you may have noticed that the Battle Pass says “Preseason.” That is because the first season of the Battle Pass haven’t officially kicked off yet and was originally scheduled to begin on December 1. That was the original plan at least. Earlier today, Call of Duty announced on their official Twitter page that Season One for this years game will be delayed till December 8, but there was really no reason as to why this was the case.

December 8 is an interesting day for gamers this year. It happens to be when Halo Infinite is officially released. That is one of a possible two reasons why Season One would be pushed back. It is no secret that Halo Infinite is one of the biggest video game releases this year, if not the biggest. Pushing Season One of the Battle Pass back would allow there to be more competition when Halo Infinite is released. However, given that Halo games are an Xbox exclusive, it wouldn’t really make all that much sense for it to be pushed back for PlayStation users as well.

The other possible reason might have to do with The Wall Street Journal article claiming that Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick was being accused of covering up instances of sexual harassment. More than 500 developers have called for Bobby Kotick to resign and have actually signed a petition for his resignation. The delay seemed to come shortly after news of these allegations came out and thus can be another reason why Season One is being delayed.

Season One of the Call of Duty: Vanguard Battle pass is set to feature a handful of fun additions for both the main game and Call of Duty: Warzone. The new additions that Call of Duty: Vanguard will be receiving are new maps, new game modes, new gear, a new zombies update, and a whole brand new 100 levels to rank up and collect cool rewards with the Battle Pass. There will also be new prestiges and weapon blueprints that will also be added with every additional season.

As far as Call of Duty: Warzone is concerned, the game will feature one of the biggest updates that it has featured so far called Warzone Pacific. There will be a brand new map called Caldera added that will feature a whole new Warzone environment along with new points of interest that gamers can explore.

Regardless of what the true reason on why Season One is being delayed, we may never actually know. This is just extra time to grind through preseason and start leveling up to as high as you can possibly get. At this point, everyone just has to be patient. December 8 is the new date and I am sure it will be worth the wait.
