Call of Duty: Vanguard: How to obtain and launch V2 Rocket

Call of Duty video games have a long history of rewarding Killstreaks. When you go on a continuous run of kills without dying — usually 25 or more — you typicall get rewarded with some version of an atomic nuke. It appears that Call of Duty: Vanguard has continued this beloved tradition. The Vanguard version of the nuke is the V2 rocket.

If you have been in a game and suddenly saw a 10 second V2 countdown warning at the top of your screen, you may have been confused to what that means and how someone was to get it. When you go through the Killstreak menu you will notice that the highest Killstreak you are able to obtain is at 12 and you are rewarded with something called Local Informants. This Killstreak allows you to see the location and direction of all enemies on the map, similar to what you may know as a Black Bird from prior Call of Duty games. Technically speaking, this is not the highest Killstreak in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Then may come the question, how do I unlock the V2 Rocket? I don’t even see it as an option to select as one of my three Killstreaks. Well, the answer is simple. You don’t. Everyone who plays the multiplayer experience already has the V2 Rocket equipped so you don’t have to physically set anything. You can’t see that the V2 Rocket is equipped, but trust me it is there. No matter what three Killstreaks you use for the course of the game, the V2 Rocket will always be set for you. Thats the easy part. The hard part is actually obtaining and launching said V2 Rocket.

Call of DUty: Vanguard: How to launch the V2 Rocket

In order to get this overpowered Killstreak, you simply need to get 25 kills in a row without dying using only your guns or equipment. Any kills you obtain with any of your set Killstreaks will not count towards getting the V2 Rocket. This should be nothing new for Call of Duty gamers. The rules are almost always the same.

Once you end up getting 25 kills in a row without dying by only using weapons or equipment, you will be granted with the “Atomic” medal, followed by the V2 Rocket appearing at the top of your killstreaks on the side of your screen. You activate it the same way as every other Killstreak. Once it is activated, a 10 second timer will begin to slowly countdown. Once the timer reaches 0, your screen will start to change orangish/white as if you are slowly burning from nuclear radiation and the screen goes black. When the V2 Rocket animation is finished, no matter what point of the game you were at, you automatically pick up the win for your entire team.

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Sledgehammer Games wasn’t going to make it easy on you. This isn’t going to be something you will get every game, but it is something that is worth giving you for going on such a spectacular Killstreak. If you can obtain the V2 Rocket and get the launch of in-game, then you are definitely very deserving to do so and pick up that win. It may not be easy, but patience and the perfect class setup will definitely get you moving in the right direction.
