Millions of gamers have already flooded the multiplayer for Call of Duty: Vanguard, working their way up the ranks to see if they can reach the max level. Every year, it’s always interesting to see how Call of Duty will go about their leveling up system for their multiplayer experience.

Back in the good ol days, there would be ten Prestiges and everyone would work their way to become tenth Prestige and then become Master Prestige after that. However, as Call of Duty has evolved over the years, it appears that each year you never know how the Prestige system is going to work.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is doing Prestige a little bit different this year. As you begin playing the multiplayer experience you will notice that you will start progressing as normal. There is no change in that aspect. There are a total of 55 Levels that each player can level up to. After you achieve level 55, you then become Prestige level 1. From that point on, there are no more Player Levels, but there are Season Levels.

Season 1 for Call of Duty: Vanguard doesn’t kick off till early on in December, but until then you can enjoy three “Preseason” Prestige Ranks up until the start of Season 1. Here are how the first three Prestige Ranks will work before the start of Season 1.

  • Prestige 1: Season Level 1/reach military rank Commander
  • Prestige 2: Season Level 50
  • Prestige 3: Season Level 100

After you get past Level 100, you will still earn levels all the way up to 1000 for each Season. Don’t worry you also don’t have to worry about losing any of your unlocks anytime you Prestige either as you will keep all of them.

Another interesting fact about different Seasons is that each Season may feature a different amount of Prestige levels you may earn. For example, during Season 1 of Call of Duty: Vanguard there will be 7 Prestige levels. For Season 2, there are confirmed to be 11 Prestige levels.

Take note that once a new Season kicks off, you lose your progress in the previous Season for a moment. However, there is a way to go back and finish off Prestiges from prior Seasons which is pretty cool too. Once you reach max Prestige in any given Season, every 50 Levels gained from that point on will unlock a previous Prestige Rank from a prior Season.

There is a lot to take in and it is obvious that the complexity of Prestiging has changed drastically over the past half decade of Call of Duty. Regardless, Call of Duty: Vanguard has tons of content for gamers to shell out tons of hours into the game and there is more than enough to work towards in terms of unlocking in-game items.
