Animal Crossing: New Horizons version 2.0 Update arrived a day early and with it a ridiculous wealth of new things you can do in the game. One of the big ones I know a loat of people were looking forward to was the new co-op section of Harv’s Island. This isn’t co-op like playing with someone else, but in the sense of businesses working with each other and coexisting on the same spot. Harv’s Island brings in some favorites that haven’t been in the game before and a couple that you normally only see every so often. So how do you get the stuffs?

When you first play after downloading the update you’ll get a ton of mail. One letter will be from Harv inviting you to swing by and talk to him when you have a minute (cause everyone forgets you have a phone).

Upon arrival, you and the pilot will have both be startled by the fact that there’s a new path on the island and the fact that it looked like Harv actually physically did something. Heading up the new path will lead you to a cut scene in which Harv and his buddy Harriet will talk to you about the new co-op they’re working on in which you’ll bring in business stands.

There are seven Lloid’s standing around the new area, each looking for bells to help someone set up shop. Each one costs 100,000 bells so if you want to get all you’ll need a total of 700,000. Here are the options starting at the bottom left and going clockwise.

The first one talks about funding a “mysteriously accurate fortune-teller“. This is Katrina, the fortune-telling panther, who as of before the update has yet to appear in New Horizons. In past games she’d give you a fortune once per day and that would affect something about your game for the rest of the day. Maybe you’ll stumble across bells…or maybe you’ll constantly trip and fall.

The next one talks about funding a “merchant offering rugs and mysterious wallpapers“. Of course, they’re talking about the camel Saharah. Normally in New Horizons, she’d show up occasionally wondering about your town maybe once a week. There was always a good chance you could get special wallpaper like the ones that were animated, illuminated, or had a three-dimensional special effect.

Next is an “old-timer who’ll give you access to your home storage“. This one is former Animal Crossing mayor Tortimer, a character who most players, via context clues, assumed had just died. Guess not. This ancient tortoise will give you access to your home storage which seems useless until you think about the next booth.

After that we got a “talented husband-and-wife furniture-refurbishing team“. This is, of course, Reese and Cyrus, the two alpacas that previously only showed up for a month for a special wedding event. But now they’re bringing their store Re:Tail to the island where they’ll be able to take your furniture (which Tortimer will allow you to access) and customize it in ways you previously couldn’t.

At the top left, we got a “botany expert with the greenest of thumbs“.  This is Lief, the adorable sloth whose dialogue was HEAVILY inspired by Bob Ross. This happy little fellow is going to be selling you all sorts of plants from shrubs and bushes to flowers to HOPEFULLY cooking ingredients.

Below that, we got a “legitimate art dealer“. The legitimacy is immediately going to be called into question once you realize that the dealer is the famous Animal Crossing scam artist “Crazy Redd’. This fox usually sells art in the back of your main island from time to time and more often than not it is fakes the museum won’t take.

Finally, in the bottom left corner, we have a “dapper dealer of fine shoes and handbags“. This is one of my personal favorite NPCs known as Kicks. This skunk dresses like a newsie and, like the description implies, sells only shoes and backpacks. Normally he’s one of the merchants that shows up randomly in town square but I love getting a chance to access him on the regular.

Before you pick, a word of warning. After spending 100,000 bells, it takes a day for the booth to arrive. Also, you can only do one a day so that means if you pick Katrina, you won’t be able to donate to anyone else until after she arrives so pick wisely. Personally, I went with Lief first because I’m really hoping he brings cooking ingredients.
