Just in time for the weekend, the latest roster update for Madden 22 has been released. The changes reflect the NFL games played through the first seven weeks of the season.

It’s been a wild first half with surprises all across the league. One of the greatest surprises has been the emergence of Cincinatti Bengals rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. For those unaware, Chase played with Burrow at LSU and their chemistry has carried over into the NFL. Chase had his best stat line of his young career against the Ravens in week seven, posting 8 receptions for 201 yards and a touchdown. He’s now got 754 yards on the year, and his latest performance has earned him a two point ratings bump from 79 overall to 81 overall.

Michael Pittman Jr. is another young wide receiver who has started to solidify himself as one of the league’s best. In a rain-soaked Sunday night primetime matchup against the 49ers, Pittman caught four balls for 105 yards and a touchdown. Pittman still isn’t getting a ton of targets per game, but he’s making the best of what is getting thrown his way and as a result, he’s now a 77 overall (up 2 points) with increases in Jumping, Spectacular Catch and Catch in Traffic.

But not everyone is so lucky in the ratings update. Odell Beckham Jr. has been a disappointment this year. And while a lingering shoulder injury might be the cause of his down performance — just two catches against Denver in Week 7 — he’s been struggling all season. Odell Beckham Jr. still doesn’t have a touchdown this season and just 16 catches on the year. The star receiver dropped three points to an 85 overall this week.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson is another receiver who just hasn’t done much this year. While the emergence of D.J. Moore as Sam Darnold’s favorite receiver initially led to fewer targets, Anderson has had plenty of opportunity the past four weeks. The problem is he just hasn’t been able to do much with it. Anderson’s lack of production led to a three point drop in overall this week to a 81 rating.

Here’s Madden 22 ratings adjustor and former wide receiver Chad Johnson breaking down some of the other ratings changes in Week 7.

Week 8’s slate of games kicked off with a thriller between the Green Bay Packers and Arizona Cardinals. It’s just the start of what will surely be another wild week in the NFL. Who do you think deserves a ratings bump in madden 22?
