What to expect from Xbox’s 20th Anniversary Event
Xbox is almost legal to drink. On November 15, Xbox will officially turn 20 years old — a major accomplishment for keeping a gaming console evolving over the past two decades. It’s not easy to keep millions of people invested in something for two decades, but Microsoft has done a great job with evolving and upgrading their console in order to do that.
In honor of Xbox’s 20th birthday, Microsoft plans on releasing a special edition controller and headset. Also, there will be a 20th anniversary event to honor the past two decades of their success.
So you may ask yourself, what special things will be talked about during their 20th anniversary event? According to Matt Booty, the head of Xbox Game Studios, there won’t be any announcements of any new games. That doesn’t mean we won’t see footage of games that were previously announced, just don’t expect to see something that has yet to be announced in the past.
The 20th Anniversary Event is supposed to be a celebration that takes a look back on the past 20 years of such a wonderful console. Microsoft has done a lot with Xbox over the past two decades and the company has made a lot of groundbreaking announcements over time.
One of those major announcements being the introduction of the Xbox Game Pass. Ten years ago, who knew that you would be able to have a library of games at your fingertips for one low cost every month? It is no secret that each and every year Microsoft is trying to do new things that help make Xbox a must have console.
That being said, don’t expect this event to showcase a lot of new things, if any new things at all. Expect the event to honor everything that has gone on with the console over the past 20 years. However, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a look at the special edition controller and headset that Microsoft plans on releasing for turning 20. Regardless of what is in store for everyone on November 15, it is surely going to be an event that you won’t want to miss if you are an Xbox fan. This is an opportunity to celebrate and take a look back on what has been a wildly, fun past two decades.
