New World Soulwarden Rations guide: Where to catch the biggest fish

There are plenty of activities to pass the time with in New World. You can gather resources, mine and log. Or maybe you just want to sit back and catch a few fish. You can do all of those things and more, but fishing is a necessity if you are looking to complete various in-game quests along the way. Depending on where you plan on fishing will also determine what types of fish you will catch and how big those fish will actually be.

Fishing is the same in New World as it is in real life. There are two types of waters that you can fish in, fresh water and salt water. If you plan on fishing in fresh water, you will need a fresh water fishing rod. If you plan on fishing in salt water, you will need a salt water fishing rod. You also need the appropriate bait that goes along with each rod. Bait naturally plays a key role in the type of fish you will catch as you would expect.

Sooner rather than later you are going to come across various fishing quests and the completion of these quests will be dependent on your fishing skills. There is a quest that you may or may not have come across in New World yet called “Soulwarden Rations.” This quest requires players to catch five fish that weigh over 30lbs.

If you are wondering why the fish you have been catching haven’t come close to being that big it is probably because you have been doing a lot of your fishing in fresh water. It is going to be very hard to catch a 30lb plus fish by only fishing in fresh water.

In order to catch fish of this size your best luck would be to saltwater fish. The coastline would be your best friend in this situation as the coastline is where you will be able to salt water fish and thus find the biggest fish. Also remember that you will also need a good fishing rod that has good durability and a bait that would attract big enough fish.
