Genshin Impact: Best characters for Everlasting Moonglow

Everlasting Moonglow is a new Catalyst weapon introduced in the second weapon banner for Genshin Impact 2.1. It’s featured prominently in promotional material as Sangonomiya Kokomi’s signature weapon, but who else is it good on? Let’s take a look at Everlasting Moonglow and see who are the best characters for it.

Everlasting Moonglow: Stats

According to miHoYo, Everlasting Moonglow has the following stats at Lv. 90 and Refinement 1:

• Base ATK: 608
• HP 49.6%

Everlasting Moonglow also gives a 10% Healing Bonus increase. It also increases Normal Attack damage by 1% of the user’s max HP. After using an Elemental Burst, Normal Attacks will restore .6 Energy after hitting an enemy for 12 seconds, triggering once every .1 seconds.

This Catalyst is made for healers. With that in mind, there are only two Catalyst healers: Sangonomiya and Barbara. They even have similar abilities, and even share the Hydro element.

When building healers, it’s easy to run into diminishing returns when you’re trying to optimize. If you’re a little more casual, you might find comfort in knowing your heals will just work. With Everlasting Moonglow, you don’t need to pay as much attention to your Artifact builds to get good performance out of your healers.

It’s also worth noting that the Normal Attack damage increase isn’t a percentage. While it’s 1% of the user’s max HP, it’s a flat damage increase. For example, if your character has 30,000 health, it only adds 300 damage to your Normal Attacks.

On DPS characters like Ningguang or Klee, the high base ATK won’t be embarrassing. They just won’t be able to take advantage of the healing bonus, and HP isn’t their most efficient build.

Everlasting Moonglow basically gives your healer a little extra punch to their rotation, and it can turn Kokomi or Barbara into a decent DPS. Catalysts, especially support type Catalysts like this one, are in a tough spot to evaluate because Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers is one of the best Catalysts in the game. It’s only a three-star weapon, and can scale well with your other characters. It also gives HP as its sub-stat.

If you’re set on making attack Kokomi or Barbara, Everlasting Moonglow will do it for you without sacrificing healing. My recommendation is to save the Primogems, go for Kokomi if you want her and refine some Thrilling Tales.
