New York Giants

10-7, 2nd place in NFC East

The Cowboys are the only team from the NFC East expected to make the playoffs, according to Madden 22. However, I think it’s a division that’s up for grabs. But I’m honestly surprised with how the rest of the division shakes out with this simulation. I think most would agree that it’s a three-way race between the Cowboys, Eagles and Washington Football Team. But it’s the Giants projected to finish second in the division with a 10-7 record.

Daniel Jones, in his third year with the team, is predicted to throw for 20 touchdowns and 7 interceptions which is closely aligned to his rookie season. His 4,166 passing yards would be a career-high.

It seems if the Giants are to perform well, they will have to rely on Saquon Barkley, who is coming off a torn ACL last year. Madden 22 seems to think he’ll do just fine with 291 rushes and 1,309 yards with 11 touchdowns. That’s the kind of production the Giants will need if they are to make a run at the division.

On defense, there’s not a whole lot to write home about. They were middle of the pack in the simulation and Leonard Williams led the team with 10 sacks.

Overall, this just seems like a weird prediction from Madden and I don’t see it happening. But I guess that’s why we play the game. Anything can happen in the NFL, including the Giants having a surprising season.
