Chicago Bears

8-9, 3rd place in NFC North

Having finally moved on from Mitch Trubisky, the Chicago Bears still struggled with rookie quarterback Justin Fields under center. But I suppose Madden 22’s prediction should instill some confidence in the fanbase.

Although Andy Dalton is technically QB1 for the Bears in Week 1, the future is undoubtedly Justin Fields. And because of that, the rookie quarterback took the reigns for the Bears in the season simulation.

And if Madden 22 is any indication, fans have a lot to look forward to. The first-round draft pick threw for 4,204 yards, 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He rushed for an additional 203 yards and four touchdown.

Fields’s favorite target was veteran receiver Allen Robinson II, who amassed 1,247 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 89 receptions.  Jimmy Graham added another 826 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bears have the talent on both sides of the ball to put together a playoff run, but it will ultimately come down to the quarterback play. If Fields does end up starting the majority of games, it probably means the Bears weren’t very competitive early on in the season. If that turns out to be the case, then I think playoffs are out of the question.

While I do think Fields has the talent to eventually excel in the NFL, I find his Madden stats to be a bit inflated in this prediction. That said, a third-place finish in the NFC North isn’t out of the realm of possibility. Because there is always the lowly Lions.
