NBA 2K22 expands Seasons beyond MyTEAM
Last year, 2K introduced Seasons into its NBA 2K franchise. It was a fun way for players to experience new content and earn rewards — but, it was limited to MyTEAM. With NBA 2K22, Seasons is expanding into the other game modes, including MyCAREER, MyTEAM and even The W.
The content featured in Seasons, whether it be game modes or cosmetics, is completely free. All you have to do is play to unlock it.
Seasons in NBA 2K22 run for six weeks. Rewards will be refreshed at the start of each new one.
NBA 2K22 MyCareer
In MyCareer, you can earn apparel, new Banners for your MyPLAYER and a new Grand Prize each season. All you have to do is earn XP and level up by playing City/Neighborhood games, Rec, Pro-Am, events and completing quests.
It was revealed that Season 1 for NBA 2K22 will unleash Go-Karts in the City (Xbox Series X|S and PS5) and Neighborhood (PlayStation 4/Xbox One). Once you hit level 40, you can unlock the Go-Kart, which you’ll actually be able to ride around in and cruise the City streets. There are also Inline Skates you can unlock at Level 30, which you can also ride in. Each season in NBA 2K22’s MyCareer will feature a new Grand Prize.
This year, the Neighborhood is taking players on last-gen to tropical destinations. Season 1 will set sail to the Caribbean, where players will showcase their skill aboard a cruise ship and throughout some beautiful island courts.
NBA 2K22 will also reworking how you’ll become a Legend; you’ll now need to reach Level 40 in four different Seasons. You don’t have to do it consecutively, however.
NBA 2K22 MyTeam
Thinks aren’t changing too much with MyTEAM Seasons in NBA 2K22. You’ll be able to earn XP with new and familiar Agendas, as well as from Season and Lifetime Agenda Groups. Every Season in MyTEAM will offer new Challenges and events, and 2K also hinted as an “all-new fast-paced” mode coming this holiday.
NBA 2K22 The W
We’ve already detailed how NBA 2K22 will expand upon The W (the game’s WNBA experience) on next-gen consoles. Now, Seasons will also be carried into The W, allowing players to earn rewards such as VC, clothing bundles, badges, nail polish and more. Similar to MyCareer, rewards will be refreshed at the start of each new Season.
