Nintendo Switch new game releases in August 2021
July saw some great games released for the Nintendo Switch, including some highly anticipated sequels in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and NEO: The World Ends with You. We’ve got a couple other big-named titles on the way in August. While there’s no shortage of indies, some of the higher profile games coming next month include Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle, King’s Bounty II and No More Heroes III.
Shadowverse is a card battling game making the leap to Switch from PC and mobile. It maintains the same basic rules but features updated battle animations that are unique to the Switch version. The game boasts online and local matchmaking, an in-game Battle Pass and more.
King’s Bounty II is a strategic role-playing game in which you play as one of three main heroes and build a personal army to defend the Kingdom from descending darkness. With battles set in unique environments that offer tactical depth, you’ll need to take into account the diverse terrain types that impact the combat. In addition to the strategic combat, the story of King’s Bounty II is filled with conspiracies, sabotage, twists and turns, with every decision you make having lasting consequences.
Then, of course, we have No More Heroes 3. Easily the biggest game releasing for the Switch next month, No More Heroes 3 sees the return of legendary assassin Travis Touchdown. With the evil Prince FU threatening to conquer earth, it’s up to Travis and his trusty Beam Katana, along with some new tech, to stop the invaders. No More Heroes 3 is developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, led by the brilliant (and somewhat twisted) mind of Suda51.

If you’re wondering why Hades — one of the biggest games coming to Xbox and PlayStation in August — isn’t on the list, it’s because the award-winning title is already available on the Nintendo Switch. And I highly recommend checking it out.
