Jirachi

Jirachi is insane. It’s one of the smallest and lightest Mythical Pokemon despite being made of steel. A legit one, for a very long time, was only obtainable if you linked two different Pokemon games together. And it is supposedly capable of granting wishes as well.

And just like a real wish, you gotta put in a lot of work to make a photo of this little star baby happen. The first time you encounter it, it’ll be flying with a bunch of Eldegoss. Hitting it with an Illumina Orb causes it to dance and flash a bit before flying away.

It can later be seen on the third statue sleeping on it. Waking it up and activating all the statues will also cause it to fly close around you before flying into the teleportation beam.

Mew

I knew that the moment I heard there was going to be an appearance from Mew in New Pokemon Snap. I knew it. Mew was sort of the final “boss” of the original and it just would feel weird not to have it appear here. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it. Then a friend told me and I screamed. It’s one of the easiest ones to trigger and yet…I probably wouldn’t have found it if not for my friend.

For Mew, we’re going to head into the Founja Jungle at night time at research level two. Now, before we get started, let me tell you a trick I didn’t know about until it was too late. The d-pad on your left Joy-Con? Hitting left and right will turn you 90 degrees and hitting down will turn you 180 instantly. It’s good that you know that for this.

When the round starts, turn around immediately and you’ll see two Morelull’s standing behind you. Play music and woosh, a purple orb will come flying out. Hit it with a Fluffruit and it’ll pop, revealing Mew for about a second before disappearing. Get a picture of it quick.

From that point on, Mew will pop up more and more in the stage. As long as you snag its picture it’ll appear elsewhere and if you keep doing it you’ll get the really cute moment at the end of the video below where it’ll give you the easiest four-star picture you’ve ever taken
