Dak Prescott (Dallas Cowboys)

The star quarterback of America’s team, coming back after a devasting, season-ending ankle injury? You can’t write a better cover story than this!

In 2019, Dak Prescott was looking like he was about to emerge as one of the league’s best quarterbacks. Unfortunately, his season was cut short after just five games last year.

Regardless of how you feel about him as a quarterback, Prescott is just a good person overall, and the type of athlete you want to represent your game and franchise. The challenges and obstacles that he has faced and overcome are admirable and he’s definitely worthy of being a cover athlete on character alone.

If you need more proof of just how beloved Dak Prescott is, just look at the league’s response when he went down with that ankle injury last year.

And let’s be clear, it’s not like Prescott isn’t deserving of the cover based on his stats. In 2019, he threw for nearly 5,000 passing yards. He tossed a career-high 30 touchdowns and put together a 99.7 QBR. In 2020, he was tracking for a similar output, having thrown for 9 touchdowns and a 99.6 QBR.

Prescott just signed a four-year, $160 million deal to stay in Dallas. As the face of one of the league’s most popular and most hated teams, he’s definitely someone deserving of the Madden 22 spotlight.
