AL Central

Chicago White Sox

  • Rank: 8th
  • Contact: 1st
  • Power: 15th
  • PItching: 7th
  • Defense: 18th
  • Speed: 2nd

The White Sox are home to several superstars, including last year’s MVP Jose Abreu. THey are considered the best “contact” hitting team and have stellar speed to get around the bases. It’s unclear how that translates to defense though, as they are rated just 18th. Some of their star players include CP Liam Hendriks (93 OVR), C Yasmani Grandal (91 OVR), 1B Jose Abreu (88 OVR), SP Lucas Giolito (87 OVR), SP Lance Lynn (87 OVR), SS Tim Anderson (83 OVR) and LF Eloy Jimenez (82 OVR).

Minnesota Twins

  • Rank: 10th
  • Contact: 17th
  • Power: 8th
  • Pitching: 8th
  • Defense: 16th
  • Speed: 23rd

The Minnesota Twins finished first place in the AL Central last year but are off to a slow start in 2021. Still, they are sneak good, led by 3B Josh Donaldson (90 OVR), CF Byron Buxton (88 OVR), SP Kenta Maeda (88 OVR) and RF Nelson Cruz (84 OVR)

Cleveland Indians

  • Rank: 12th
  • Contact: 25th
  • Power: 24th
  • Pitching: 10th
  • Defense: 7th
  • Speed: 7th

Despite a team budget of just $76M, the Indians have got some talent and are the 12th best-rated team in the game. They are primarily bolstered by pitching and defense, led by SP Shane Bieber (95 OVR), 3B Jose Ramirez (92 OVR), C Roberto Perez (86 OVR) and CP James Karinchak (82 OVR).

Kansas City Royals

  • Rank: 18th
  • Contact: 23rd
  • Power: 22nd
  • Pitching: 21st
  • Defense: 20th
  • Speed: 12th

The Royals have got some talent but no one on their roster is rated in the 90s in MLB The Show 21. They’ve got 2B Whit Merrifield (88 OVR), SS Adalberto Mondesi (86 OVR) and C Salvador Perez (85 OVR) and that’s about it.

Detroit Tigers

  • Rank: 26th
  • Contact: 8th
  • Power: 28th
  • PItching: 28th
  • Defense: 25th
  • Speed: 21st

The Tigers are rated 26th in the game and it absolutely shows when you look at their roster. They’ve got just one player rated in the low 80s, 2B Jonathan Schoop (83 OVR). Their pitching is horrendous, with their highest starting pitcher rated just a 75 OVR in Matthew Boyd.
