Left Field

Heading to the outfield, we have Christian Yelich and Juan Soto leading the pack of left fielders. Both players check into MLB The Show 21 tied with a 96 overall rating. Both players are off to a tremendous start to the year. Yelich is currently hitting .333 with a .826 OPS, while Soto is batting .378 with a 1.033 OPS. Yelich is probably the more complete player, but Soto possesses a bit more power. Either way, I have no problem with them both at the top of the list.

New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton is the third best-rated Left Fielder in MLB The Show 21. But, he too is off to a very slow start. At one point, the 31-year-old was mired in a  0-for-17 slump. Stanton is an incredibly talented hitter (when healthy), so hopefully, he snaps out of this funk and starts to play like his video game counterpart.

Atlanta Braves slugger Marcell Ozuna rounds out the top five with a 90 overall rating, followed by a batch of players in the upper-to-mid 80s. J.D. Martinez is off to a hot start this year, knocking five dingers with 16 RBIs. He’s got a .378 average with a 1.37 OPS. Does he deserve to be rated higher?
