Catchers

Unfortunately, I didn’t get around to predicting the best catchers in MLB The Show 21, so I’ll just have to take Sony’s word for it.

J.T. Realmuto checks in with the best overall at 92, followed by Yasmani Grandal with a 91. From there, it’s a pretty big drop off to the rest of the pack, which are all in the mid-to-low- 80s and separated by just a few points each.

When it comes to hitting, Realmuto and Perez have among the highest OPS currently in the league. But catching is about more than offense. Admittedly, I’m not the best judge for catchers, as I don’t pay a ton of attention to defense. I’m a Chicago Cubs fan, so seeing Wilson Contreras in the top five makes me happy.

  1. J.T. Realmuto (Philadelphia Phillies) – 92 OVR
  2. Yasmani Grandal (Chicago White Sox) – 91 OVR
  3. Roberto Perez (Cleveland Indians) – 86 OVR
  4. Will Smith (Los Angeles Dodgers) – 86 OVR
  5. Wilson Contreras (Chicago Cubs) – 86 OVR
  6. Christian Vazquez (Boston Red Sox) – 85 OVR
  7. Salvador Perez (Kansas City Royals) – 85 OVR
  8. James McCann (New York Mets) – 83 OVR
  9. Yadier Molina ( St. Louis Cardinals) – 82 OVR
  10. Jacob Stallings (Pittsburgh Pirates) – 82 OVR
