MLB The Show 21 ratings revealed: Top rated players at each position
Closing Pitchers
Because the season is still so early, I feel like it’s a bit harder to judge closing pitchers. We know who the talented ones are but because they may not have had many opportunities so far in 2021, it may not be reflected in their stats. Their ERAs may be a bit inflated with one bad outing.
That’s the case for Liam Hendricks, who is the top-rated closer in MLB The Show 21. But he’s struggled early on this season and has a 6.23 ERA with one save and one blown save.
Meanwhile, Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel, who isn’t even in the top 10 for MLB The Show 21, is a perfect 3-3 in save opportunities. It’s possible that Kimbrel, who was once a dominant closer, is returning to form. Or maybe it’s still early.
Hendriks is the only closer rated in the 90s in MLB The Show 21. The others come in high-to-mid 80s rating. Aroldis Chapman, who throws straight fireballs, is rated 87 overall, followed by Kenley Jansen and Brad Hand — all rated 86 overall.
