Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Hello Kitty crossover, new Designer Tools and more
It’s been a year since Animal Crossing: New Horizons showed up at the absolute perfect time and became our go-to quarantine escape. Arriving at that perfect moment where it was still easy to go into a store while also while everyone could just feel what was about to happen, Nintendo couldn’t have dropped it at a better moment.
The beloved games have been embraced by the casual community, streamers, and ever celebrities from Bree Lawson to even Danny Trejo have all given out tours of the islands they’re so proud of.
Now it’s almost that same time of year and Nintendo has decided to add a bunch of stuff to everyone’s favorite game about nothing. In a recent announcement from Nintendo, they showcased a wonderful list of things to come this month, and, honestly, as someone who thought the next thing they had to look forward to was the nightmarish Bunny Day, this is a very happy announcement.
Designer Updates
One of the parts I’m most excited about is the huge wealth of things they’re adding for people who like customizing patterns. They’re not only adding more slots for custom patterns, which is a godsend for people like me whose need for streets has absolutely flooded their available space.
This is going to give people a massive upgrade when customizing their island. For example, all those spots in my inventory with different grey blocks? It’s so I can have an island with full streets big enough to drive a car up and down. It’s something I desperately wanted to do with my island and I love the way it looks.
With more space, it means there will be other areas of my island that I can completely customize. Maybe part of my island can now have a pebble path leading to a fountain or a zen garden. I’ve seen people do amazing things with the spots they have and with this upgrade, we’re going to see some remarkably well-detailed islands.
