March Madness: Five NCAA players we’re likely to see in NBA 2K22
4. Scottie Barnes (Florida State) (SF)
Scottie Barnes may not be playing basketball at the highest of levels at the moment when it comes to his shooting capabilities, but that isn’t his strongest attribute yet. Scottie Barnes is a very good playmaker who is able to assist his teammates in getting the ball into the hoop.
Barnes has only started 7 out of his 19 games played this season which may seem like a let down. However, even though he hasn’t started a ton of games, Barnes is still averaging 10.4 PPG.
Florida State values Barnes’ playmaking ability and even coming off the bench he is still a huge threat on the floor. Barnes is shooting 49.7% from the field and a disappointing 56.9% from the free throw line. For someone who is not even 20 years old yet, his game is going to continue to improve down the line. While his shooting from the field isn’t terrible, it will have to get better to be an elite competitor in the NBA.
As it stands right now, defense is a major part of Scottie Barnes game. The amount of energy that this man has at such a young age is also something that shouldn’t be brushed away. There are some NBA teams that will see value in the youngster by having them apart of their team. Even if Barnes ends up getting drafted, he may not get a ton of playing time. Regardless, he can be a valuable asset in the NBA. If Scottie Barnes ends up playing in the NBA next season, you may be able to play as him in NBA 2K22.
