Pokémon GO: How to catch Shiny Fletchling
By Andrew Lin
Shiny Fletchling is the hot topic for today’s Pokémon GO Community Day. With all the Fletchling festivities, you’ll want to know how to get your hands on a Shiny one. Here’s everything you need to know about Shiny Fletchling in Pokémon GO.
March’s Community Day event will be the first to feature a sixth-generation Pokémon in Fletchling. On March 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, you’ll be running into a lot of Fletchling. Since this is a Community Day event, there’s an increased chance for you to encounter a Shiny Fletchling.
How to Catch Shiny Fletchling in Pokémon GO:
The highlight of any Community Day event is the chance to get a Shiny version of the featured Pokémon.
The normal Shiny encounter rate is about one every 450 encounters, but during Community Day that rate increases dramatically to roughly one every 24 encounters. If you’re looking, you’ll be sure to run into a few by the event’s end.
Shiny Pokémon don’t appear on the map as Shiny, so you’ll have to engage each Fletchling you see. You’ll know it’s Shiny when you see a different color on Fletchling. A Shiny one has a tan belly and wings, whereas the normal one is blueish-gray. It’s actually kind of difficult to see if you don’t know what you’re looking for, but the game will show a Shiny Pokémon’s trademark sparkle by its name tag and character model.
After this event concludes, Shiny Fletchling should remain in the game as an available Shiny. You don’t want to miss out on the event and the increased Shiny Rate.
Since you’ll be getting a bunch of Fletchling in your Shiny hunt, you’ll get a sizable amount of candy to power up any with good IVs. Fletchling’s final form, Talonflame, is a solid Fire type attacker that you won’t be upset to have as Shiny.
