Outriders, the newest looter-shooter (that’s NOT a live service game) releasing in April, released its demo in late February. The demo lets players create all four classes, level them to level 7, and advance to World Tier 5. It doesn’t take long to get through the couple of main story missions and side quests. But the demo also allows you to max out at currency and resources, as well as farm for legendary weapons.

Legendary weapons, like most games, are the rarest weapons in the game and feature not only the coolest designs, but the best weapon mods in the game. Weapon mods can be removed once the game is released, and can be put into other weapons. That’s all endgame talk though. The hard part is getting the legendary weapons to drop.

A lot of it is going to rely on RNG. The randomness of weapon drops is just part of the genre. For instance I have about 12 hours put into the demo, and I haven’t had a legendary drop. But one of my friends got his first legendary about an hour into the demo on World Tier 3 from a crate.

So how should you go about farming legendary weapons in the Outriders demo?

How to farm legendary weapons in the Outriders demo

The most efficient way, albeit cheesiest way (think Destiny’s loot cave) to farm legendary weapons is to keep running the mission Terra Infirma. It is a side quest you get from Shira towards the end of the demo.

Once you enter the combat arena, if you run straight towards the back, there’s a Captain that spawns there. With the Trickster you can use your giant slow bubble ability so it’s incredibly easy, but the thought is that you run straight for him, burn down his health, collect the loot he drops, kill a couple of enemies if you need to get the chest on the platform above where he spawns, and then let the enemies kill you.

Letting the enemies kill you will respawn you at the beginning of that encounter and will respawn all of the enemies, including the Captain, so just rinse and repeat for as long as you like.

You can also restore story points to reset mission progress and get loot from chests, but doing so isn’t as quick and efficient as the method listed above. Now you just need RNG to be on your side.

Outriders releases on April 1, 2021 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, as well as PS4 and Xbox One.
