Biggest announcements from today’s Pokemon Presents
Today’s Pokemon Presents revealed a lot of new information. Everything from events in pre-existing games to remakes of older games to even a brand new adventure in a style never seen before in a Pokemon game. It had something for everyone, and here’s a breakdown of everything announced.
New Pokemon Snap Update
In the reveal for New Pokemon Snap, they showcased reminders of how the game was going to play but also gave more information on Professor Mirror as well as his two assistants, one who absolutely will be your snooty rival.
The trailer showed off new locations and the ability to traverse the world at nighttime as well. It also showed off new items like the Lumina Orb which allows you to make Pokemon glow for better shots, occasionally with color-changing effects as well.
They also showcased some of the excellent new photo editing abilities complete with a new online board that will allow players to showcase their pictures to the world with the chance that they may become featured.
The trailer ended, showing off the Celebi would appear in the game as well, possibly being the endpoint to the story similar to how Mew was in the original.
Pokemon Day Events in Several Preexisting Games
The next part of the trailer talked about events happening in several Pokemon games out already.
In Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, players can hop on and find special raid battles that allow them to encounter a Gigantamax Pikachu in honor of the 25th Anniversary.
In Pokemon Cafe Mix, players can log in before the 28th to receive 2,500 Golden Acorns which are the game’s premium currency.
In Pokemon GO, during a Kanto themed celebration, players are more likely to encounter special raid battles against the original three legendary birds (Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno) as well as Mewtwo
And in Pokemon Master EX, legendary trainer Leon of the Galar region appears in a special side story alongside his trusty Charizard.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl
Yes, Virginia, there is a Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remake. Twitter, you can finally calm down.
Nintendo revealed that ILCA, the company that makes Pokemon Home, will be working on an alarmingly accurate recreation of the original Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl.
The game will feature an exact recreation of the game world from the originals complete with overhead view while adding in a few modern quality of life features.
The remake is due out later this year with no word on a Sapphire remake.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus
In this massive surprise from Nintendo, The Pokemon Company showed off a new game that takes place in the Sinnoh region during the feudal period. In a time where Pokeballs were made of wood and steam-powered, you set out to discover what Pokemon are, leading to a fateful encounter with Arceus, the Pokemon who, quite literally, started it all.
The game shows off a third-person play style where you track Pokemon, hiding in the grass and throwing Pokeballs as well as a seamless battle style that happens live in the open world.
Pokemon Legends Arceus looks set to appear in early 2022.
