Xander Bogaerts

Xander Bogaerts doesn’t get enough love, in my opinion. Since his first fulls season in the Majors in 2014, the Red Sox shortstop has done nothing but produce offensively.

As MLB Network notes, Bogaerts ranks No. 2 in home runs, No. 1 in on-base percentage, No. 4 in slugging, and No. 3 in WAR among all shortstops over the last two years.

He’s coming off a shortened 2020 season in which he hit .300 average with 11 home runs and 28 RBIs. Of course, last season was all sorts of weird with COVID-19, so looking back at 2019, Bogaerts put together the best season of his career.

In 2019, he hit for career highs in average (.309), home runs (33) and RBIs (117). His WAR that season was an impressive 5.2. Bogaerts has been one of the most consistent shortstops in the league for years and I think it’ll finally show in MLB The Show 21.

Rating prediction: 91 overall
