How to Unlock Negascott

Oh my goodness. The movies did Negascott so dirty. So. Dirty.

In the movies, somewhere near the end of the film, Scott encounters Negascott. He is almost barely explained and becomes some of a one-off joke where Scott realizes he has a lot in common with his evil twin and they decide to go get breakfast later.

In the books, however, Negascott is a huge character hinted at throughout multiple books until, eventually, while on a soul searching trip, Scott tries to make himself better which results in Negascott taking physical form and almost killing him.

Scott has to come to terms with everything bad he’s been doing and, in the process, destroys Negascott allowing him to start on a journey of becoming a better person. It’s my favorite scene in the books.

While Negascott has a slightly bigger role in the game than he does in the movies it might not be enough Nega for you. Luckily there is a fix, it just takes a LOT of work.

To unlock Negascott you have to beat the game with all four of the original characters. That’s Scott, Kim, Steven, and Ramona. Don’t worry about Wallace and Knives, they don’t count towards this as they were originally DLC.

Once you’ve beaten the game for the fourth time you won’t really get any fanfare or message telling you that you’ve unlocked him but when you go into your character select you’ll see him as you scroll through.

His move set looks a lot like Scott’s at first until you notice his attack power. His defense and base attack are fairly low but his ability with weapons and his crit damage is stupid powerful making it still worth it to give him a try.
