Nioh 2: The ten hardest bosses and tips to beat them
Tsuchigumo
The spider boss right out of hell; Tsuchigumo is no cakewalk. This foe is so agile, so violent, so aggressive. The worst part? He can’t be slothed. What can you do? Burn him with fire, if you can hit him.
Blocking is fairly useful in the Nioh games, but this enemy will condition you that even blocking can have its downsides. You never want to stay truly still when facing Tsuchigumo. Always strafe; be ready to dodge or roll to the left. It’s a safer option if you’re good enough. It’s even more useful when he starts spitting his web traps all over the floor.
Another reason to not block against him is that he’s really trigger happy with his grappling moves. This guy grabs a lot, and of course, on later difficulties, that is the difference between life and death. Some of these attacks are burst attacks, so you may want to practice on timing Unless you’re a god at the game, I would also suggest not to use weapons that animation lock you and are more on the agile side. Alternatively, stick to light and some mid stances for a few quick pop shots to get in and out.
You have to respect Tsuchigumo’s space, especially when he perches himself in the trees. He’ll eventually come down and hit you with a highly damaging jump attack if you aren’t ready for it. Also, stock up on some fire talismans or fire-based projectile jutsus like the fire shurikens or fire shot talismans. Let some DoT help you in this fight, even if you aren’t so highly specced into casting abilities.
