Nioh 2: The ten hardest bosses and tips to beat them
Lightning Gods of Yomi
In the second DLC’s final mission, you’ll fight Ashiya Doman, the main bad guy of that story arc. Just as you think you’ve got him defeated, he conjures up the eight savage gods from the Yomi into an epic boss battle. As the name would put it too, this boss is all about lightning, so if you main that element, that’s going to suck.
The eight-god fusion will permanently leave you ailing with the lightning proc, so be prepared for your movement to be hindered. Luckily it isn’t your ki though, but this does make approaching harder. Like most major yokai bosses in the game though, you’ll want to have a trusty purity weapon to bring down its ki gauge for stronger, subsequent hits.
The best tips I have are to sort of treat this fight like Lady Osakabe’s: be prepared to dodge a lot just to get in for a hit. When you start to see the dark grey clouds form, stay away. When you see the boss conjuring up lightning balls, maintain your distance from them, and be ready to dodge the energy waves when they burst. Getting hit by the first wave is a guaranteed death since those all strike at the same location. One more thing: avoid the grab at all costs, unless you’re confident enough to burst counter it. That’s also an ensured death, and a cool possible easter egg to Mortal Kombat’s Raiden lightning grab.
Once again, aim for the glowy bits, or in this case, the glowing skulls.
