Lady Osakabe

Move over Final Fantasy VII, this is the REAL Hell House. Lady Osakabe turns Nioh 2 from a soulsborne game into a bullet hell, and fighting her in later difficulties has even caused me to step away from the game for a day or two to rethink my strategies. She’s one of the larger bosses in terms of mass in this game, so your typical game plan won’t work here.

What I would highly suggest is to either have a fairly decent ability to recover ki or stack up on barrier talismans. She has the ability to inflict you with all sorts of elements, and if you know anything about this game, being inflicted with the confusion status is probably the worst to be hit with. Your ki takes a massive penalty and you’re dealing with two other statuses that hinder your recovery and offensive options.

You should also look into any abilities that dispel or cure ailments to your character, or if you have the third DLC, unlock the Sohaya guardian spirit. This guardian spirit has a 100% chance to nullify the confusion status, which is such a game-changer and probably slightly broken from how useful it is even outside of this boss fight. This is one of a few bosses where I had to use more than nine elixirs, meaning I even used herbal remedies for healing because of the constant projectiles and elemental effects that wither down my HP.

However, there are some decently safe spots where you fight her that give you enough time to cast a Jutsu or shoot her tendrils or eye at. And speaking of her eye, there are times in the fight where if you look up at her eye before she falls, it’s wide open and you can shoot at it to deal some hefty damage. I would suggest using your strongest hand cannon to do the trick.
