WHY IT IS – Sound and Fury Signifying Nothing

It’s one thing to expect players to be fine with only fighting Taskmaster and Abomination over and over again, that’s already not that fun. But to constantly hint at major characters that never happen sucks.

Over the course of the missions, you’ll hear countless missions mention Nick Fury. A Nick Fury who, I’m sorry, you’ll never meet in anything in the game now outside the beginning of the story missions.

During the story, you’ll meet Hank Pym, also known as Giant Man/Ant Man. He’ll very quickly let you know that if he will die if he ever uses his powers again. So that’s that character done.

Even one of the most interesting post-game story missions, which I covered here, has Thor going up against a group called “The Woken” who are lead by a fake Thor who is instructing them to build a machine that will allow them to artificially open a door to the Bifrost bridge. By completing those missions you find out that the fake Thor was actually Loki and that it is never mentioned again. You never even see Loki.

And that’s another problem with the end game is that it constantly hints at exciting things that just aren’t in the game. These lackluster hints only further highlight how boring what you actually get is. It’s like eating a cold cheese sandwich while watching the Food Network.
