NOT THE CAUSE – The look of the characters

When Marvel’s Avengers was first shown off everyone seemed upset by the look of the characters. Even though Square Enix constantly pushed the fact that their Avengers games had nothing to do with the MCU. Even with that being the case everyone wanted the characters to look like the actors because that’s what they were used to.

This is something that may have contributed to its lackluster sales but this wouldn’t make any sense for the player drop-off. First off, Square Enix greatly improved the faces for launch, but not only that the actor performances on each character is really really good. Not a dig against internet darling Mark Ruffalo, but I really like Marvel’s Avengers’ Bruce Banner.

Also, we’re talking about a player drop-off which means that these are people who’ve already played through the game and are more than used to the character’s look.
