Cross-Gen Bundle

Now, what if you don’t own a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X but plan on getting one at some point in the near future? Maybe you couldn’t get one at launch due to it being sold out but plan to buy one within the next year after the mad holiday rush.

The Cross-Gen Bundle provides a current-gen copy of Black Ops Cold War for PS4 or Xbox One as well as a path to upgrade to next-gen at your leisure. With the Cross-Gen Bundle, you can enjoy Black Ops Cold War on PS4 or Xbox One and then upgrade to the next-gen console in the same family whenever you upgrade.

The only caveat is that you must stay within the same family. So if you buy the game on PS4, you will get the PS5 version. For Xbox One, it will be the Xbox Series X|S version.

It’s worth mentioning that this version is a little more expensive, priced at $69.99, so it’s not like you’re getting a “free” upgrade. You’re essentially paying a $10 upgrade fee.

But at the same time, certain next-gen games are already being priced at $69.99 as the new industry standard for AAA titles. Call of Duty is likely one of the franchises that will adopt this new price point moving forward.

This version also comes with the Woods Operator Pack and Confrontation Weapons Pack.

To sum up, if you know for sure you’re getting a next-gen console within the next year or so, this is your most straightforward path as you can play it across generations.
