Catching Keldeo

Ah, Keldeo. I love it so much. No joke. It’s my favorite Legendary right behind Meloetta (NINTENDO, GET HER IN THE GAME) and is one of the weirder ones to find. Especially considering no one tells you about Keldeo and Sonia leaves after you catch the three so you’re not even prompted to go after this one. Someone playing Pokemon for the first time probably has no idea there’s another one. Oh but there is.

First things first, you need to swap out half your team with the other three Swords of Justice. They don’t have to be in the first spots, but you need Cobalion, Virizion and Terrakion in your party for this trick. Then you need to head down to the Dyna Tree Hill. In the water surrounding the Hill you’ll see a small island with a tree. Near the tree is a small weird item. Head down there.

When you get to the island and go behind the tree you’ll see a strange cooking pot laying there which, oddly, your character will say is never before seen evidence of a Pokemon. Why you don’t just assume a camper left their gear I’m almost afraid to ask. But you can’t miss it. It looks like this.

Get close to it and then set up camp. From there, cook up some decent curry for your now heavily Legendary party. Afterwards, after everyone has been fed, leave the camp. On the other side of the tree, in the little clearing, you’ll see Keldeo in it’s Resolute Form. If you don’t know what this means just know Keldeo used to have to evolve to get to Resolute Form. Now you just get it by default. You’re welcome.

Keldeo is awesome mostly because it’s a Water/Fighting-type which gives you a very fun variety of moves. While it gives it a bunch of strengths it also makes it weak to five different types; Grass, Electric, Flying, Psychic and Fairy. You bring any of these, you’ll be mostly okay. Once you capture it, that’s it. There’s really no climatic cut scene it’s just a really cool Pokemon to have and looks absolutely amazing running along with you as you explore the Crown Tundra.
