How to get Legendary Items in Pokemon Sword and Shield

With all the Legendary Pokemon showing up in Pokemon Sword and Shield you’re probably wondering how to get their special items.

Pokemon Sword and Shield‘s latest DLC, the Crown Tundra, is live and we are excited as all heck. In addition to the awesome new story, the crazy new legendaries (I love Galarian Zapdos so much) and other new fun things to do, it also allows the transfer of almost all previous legendaries and mythical Pokemon from previous games (with the exception of Meloetta, but I’ll rant about that elsewhere).

The only issue is that a lot of these mythicals have items required to make them hit their full potential. In addition to items like Lustrous Orbs that allow Palkia to have its Dragon and Water-type moves boosted, there are also items like the Reveal glass that allow the Forces of Nature to alter their forms. In fact, there’s a lot of legendaries that can change forms but as you can’t transfer items from previous games, what do you?

Turns out the answer is SUPER simple thanks to the most unsung NPC in the game.

Any time you transfer a legendary into Sword or Shield that had a special item, just duck on down to the city of Stow on Side. There you can find the vendor brothers. You’re gonna look for this dude right here.

All you have to do is approach and talk to him and he’ll give you all the items you need, no purchase necessary. For example, when I talked to him after transferring my Genesect he was nice enough to give me all the drives needed to change his laser type.

And another thing that is awesome that I found out via experimentation is that the items don’t have special requirements and can often do very cool things the original versions couldn’t.

For example, I got a Zygarde Cube which I used on my shiny Zygarde. When I chose to use it simply allows me to cycle between 10% Forme and 50% Forme. Not just that but it also allows me to cycle between all available abilities which is awesome. Look how simple this is.

Of course, most people are going to use this to get the stronger versions of their Pokemon, but I’m a special boy and used it to turn my shiny Zygarde into this wonderful puppers.

I mean, look at this. It’s the goodest boy in the game and it has a Thousand Arrows for anyone that disagrees.
