WR Calvin Ridley went off against the Seattle secondary, catching 9 passes on 12 targets for 130 yards and 2 TD. While Julio Jones was responsible for the 44 yard catch, Ridley is a really good weapon, and 83 OVR is looking a little low for him. A boost up to 84 should do it, and with some more week-to-week consistency, he should shoot up even higher this season.

Carolina Panthers

QB Teddy Bridgewater looked pretty good in his first game for the Panthers. Even though they lost to the Raiders 34-30, Bridgewater ran a couple of times and went 22/34 for 270 yards and 1 TD. I think 76 or 77 OVR is better suited for Bridgewater than his current 75 OVR.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints secondary was very impressive in their win over the stacked Buccaneers. To hold Tom Brady, Mike Evans, OJ Howard, Chris Godwin, Cameron Brate and Rob Gronkowski to less that 250 yards in passing offense is unbelievable. The safety position came up big, with 80 OVR Chauncey Gardner-Johnson leading the team with 10 tackles and 85 OVR Malcom Jenkins being his usual self. Both should see a minor increase in OVR after their performances.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

After a hot start, the Buccaneers offense did not put out a performance you’d expect considering the players they have. No one looked less impressive than Rob Gronkowski, who after a year off from football was only targeted three times, amounting to two catches for 11 yards. That’s why it was a little absurd for him to be rated a 92 OVR coming into this year. After that performance, he should’ve started lower until he proved he could be the player he was before retirement. A course correction to at least 90 OVR should happen.
