Gaming accessory company ROCCAT announced a new line of three PC gaming headsets with an array of features all priced under $100.

German-based PC gaming accessories brand, ROCCAT, has been a staple in the industry for the past 12 or so years. Known for well-priced, high-quality PC gaming accessories, their mice, keyboards, headsets and accessories have become mainstream over the last few years through sponsors like Dr DisRespect and a prominence among pro gamers.

I find it appropriate then that ROCCAT announced a new line of PC gaming headsets labeled the Elo series. If you’re familiar with competitive games like League of Legends, they use an Elo rating system that helps calculate a player’s skill level to match them with opponents.

There are three PC gaming headsets in the Elo series, which are the first headsets from ROCCAT since they were acquired by Turtle Beach in 2019. The three headsets announced today are: Elo X Stereo ($49.99), Elo 7.1 USB ($69.99), and the Elo 7.1 Air ($99.99). Each headset seems suited to meet specific needs of different types of PC gamers, but the bigger news here is releasing three headsets in a new line that are all prices under $100. I don’t know if the pandemic and economic struggles of many people have weighed into the price point, but these are incredibly affordable for what they offer, which are apparent in the name of each headset.

While each of these headsets will feature memory foam cushions and a self-adjusting, floating metal headband for lightweight comfort, the list of features paint the full picture. The Elo X Stereo ($49.99) is a wired stereo headset featuring 50mm drivers. Because it sports a 3.5mm cable, it can be used cross-platform, so you’re not limited to PC if you’re a console gamer looking for an under $50 headset. It also features two Turtle Beach mainstays — the high-sensitivity TruSpeak microphone and ProSpecs, making the headset glasses-friendly. It also comes with a PC audio splitter.

The next headset in the Elo series is the Elo 7.1 USB ($69.99). For under $70, you’re getting the aforementioned comfort, TruSpeak microphone (with Variable Mic Monitoring) and ProSpecs. This over ear design features 50mm drivers, this headset connects via USB to deliver 7.1 surround sound, which is especially helpful in shooters and battle royale games. It also features ROCCAT’s RGB AIMO lighting system, which lets you customize the lighting of the ROCCAT logo on the ear cups, and syncing with your other ROCCAT products. Audio controls are all featured on the ear cup for ease of use. It’s only compatible with PC.

Finally, the most expensive in the Elo series is the Elo 7.1 Air ($99.99). The Elo 7.1 Air give all of the features of the 7.1 USB — the surround sound, AIMO lighting system, TruSpeak, ProSpecs, 50mm drivers, memory foam cushions and the same headband — but it adds on wireless capability with a 24-hour battery life. On paper, this headset is a steal at that price given the feature set. It too is only compatible with PC.
