Madden 21: Best teams to rebuild in franchise mode

Make all the right moves with the Jaguars

Oh boy have the Jaguars been a mess with some of the moves they’ve made that haven’t worked out. Gone are QB Nick Foles, DE Calais Campbell, DT Marcell Dareus and CB A.J. Bouye. They also traded star CB Jalen Ramsey during the season to the Rams. New players include TE Tyler Eifert (77 OVR), HB Chris Thompson (76 OVR), DT Al Woods (77 OVR) and QB Mike Glennon (58 OVR). I’d argue the only player that is noteworthy in the additions category is Eifert.

Outside of Eifert, the Jaguars offense is built around talented HB Leonard Fournette (83 OVR 92 Speed), WR D.J. Chark Jr. (81 OVR 94 Speed), WR Dede Westbrook (79 OVR 93 Speed) and WR Chris Conley (76 OVR 92 Speed). They have a young, fast core, although it feels like none of them outside of Fournette can take over a game. Quarterback is where things get really bad for the Jaguars. Glennon and Jake Luton are rated in the high 50s, so neither of them should see the playing field.

That leaves 70 OVR Gardner Minshew II as your best option. Now maybe you love his sound bites, his mustache and some of his highlights. If that’s the case, maybe you challenge yourself and view his ratings (78 speed, 85 throwing power, 86 SAC, 78 MAC, 80 DAC, 82 PAC and 78 RUN) as something you can work with. But odds are you’re going to want to draft a new QB. That’s always the most exciting part of a rebuild anyways.

The o-line is actually in decent shape. It features 87 OVR C Brandon Linder and 83 OVR LG Andrew Norwell with the other starters rated in the low 70s. With a lot of talent either being traded away or leaving via free agency on defense, there’s really only young players to be excited for:

• RE Yannick Ngakoue – 83 OVR
• MLB Joe Schobert – 82 OVR
• LE Josh Allen – 81 OVR
• ROLB Myles Jack – 81 OVR
• 1st round draft pick CB C.J. Henderson – 76 OVR
• RE K’Lavon Chaisson – 74 OVR
• MLB Shaquille Quarterman – 64 OVR (I’m a UM fan and he’s going to be better than he’s rated)

There’s upgrades needed all over the field, and no one is good enough to not be replace (outside of Fournette). Talk about a blank slate on offense for the Patriots… the Jaguars are a blank slate on the entire team.
