For the trainers that actively participated in the events for Pokemon GO Fest from home, the fun did not end after the action-packed weekend that trainers took advantage of. For the trainers that completed the field research during the event, more surprises wait for the trainers in Ultra Unlock Weeks!

Pokemon GO Fest was an event to remember for trainers to take advantage of while playing from home. Trainers had a two-day experience with the last weekend in June teaming up with trainers all over the world with catching Pokemon and completing simple tasks for bonuses. Each hour during day one of the festival, there were featured environments that contained certain species of Pokemon. Some of these Pokemon were regionally exclusive and trainers were able to see and catch during the brief time frame they were available. On the second day of the festival, Team GO Rocket took over the festival, and trainers united together to challenges the grunts and leaders of the villainous group. The promotions during the Pokemon GO Fest were only the beginning of what trainers were looking forward to in the weeks following.

For the trainers that accomplished the field research during Pokemon GO Fest, Ultra Unlock bonus events were unlocked for trainers to accomplish for the weeks following. Trainers that accomplished all eight major challenges from Pokemon GO Fest that were benchmarks set by each area available from the weekend event. These bonuses were featured accomplishments that rewarded the trainers more Pokemon as a thank you for their participation in the festival. Ultra Unlock was to feature three separate events that would carry out for a week for each bonus. The first week featured will be Dragon Week, followed by Enigma Week, and finally, Unova Week for three straight weeks of more Pokemon featured carried on from Pokemon GO Fest.

Ultra Unlock Week One features Dragon Week in Pokemon GO. The event started on July 31 and will carry on until Aug 7th. Trainers will have the opportunity to catch more Dragon-type Pokemon, even some species from their base form that evolve into dragons in their final stage. Pokemon available include Horsea, Dratini, Trapinch, Swablu, Bagon, and Alolan Exeggutor. Trainers that hatch 7 km eggs during this week can also feature these same Pokemon that will be available in the wild, and will also feature Gible and Deino from the same eggs. In addition to the featured Dragon-type Pokemon available for the week, special timed Field Research will challenge the trainer throughout the whole week that includes bonuses of catching two more Deino. In five-star raids, Rayquaza will be making a return to raid battles for trainers to challenge the legendary dragon. This special Ultra week is already underway, so take advantage of it as much as you can trainers!

Ultra Unlock Week Two feature Enigma Week in Pokemon GO. The week events will follow the prior Ultra Unlock week that features dragons, for it will start Aug 7th and will conclude on Aug 14th. The Pokemon that will be featured are Psychic-type Pokemon and the other element they are paired with is what makes the exact Pokemon a mystery. The Pokemon featured for the week will be Jigglypuff, Clefairy, Staryu, Lunatone, Solrock, Baltoy, Bronzor, and Elgyem. Like the week prior, trainers that hatch 7 km eggs will reveal the same Pokemon including the baby forms like Cleffa and Igglybuff. Raids will also feature fully evolved forms of some of the Pokemon listed and will also feature the enigma of Unown; which letters featured will be “U, L, T, R, A” spelling out the word ‘ultra’ for the week. Five-star level raids will also feature legendary Pokemon Deoxys, with the number of forms it has makes it an enigma itself.

Ultra Unlock Week Three will be the final week that features Pokemon from the Unova region. Pokemon from the Unova region that have not made their debut yet in Pokemon GO will be given this opportunity for trainers to catch them during this week. This will take place between Aug 14th and Aug 21st for the closing time frame of the bonuses offered after Pokemon GO Fest. The Unova Pokemon making their first debut in the game will be Sewaddle, Cottonee, Emolga, Bouffalant, and many more yet to be announced! New York City and the surrounding area will have the chance to hatch 5 km eggs that will spawn Bouffalant. Roggenrola will be a featured Pokemon featured in raids, especially a better ratio chance to challenge a shiny one. The legendary Pokemon featured in the five-star raids will be Genesect, who makes a debut after the special event it held in POGO months before. This is the perfect time for trainers to take advantage of completing the section of their Pokedex that features Pokemon from the Unova region. This only means that the next region of the Pokemon story is right around the corner to be featured for trainers.

These events for Pokemon GO is the perfect reward for trainers who participated in the events after Pokemon GO Fest. It is clear that not all of these Pokemon could be featured during the weekend events, which is why holding them available for the Ultra Unlock weeks is an exceptional award for dedicated POGO players. The series of these events will take up the majority of time for August, especially around the day of Community Day. This will lead to the autumn events that Pokemon GO and Niantic plans for the remainder of the year. Good luck with your challenges during Ultra Week, trainers; and most importantly, stay safe!
