Third Base

Brian Anderson (MIA) – Age 26, Overall 82, Potential A, Contract $584K (1 year RNW, 3 years ARB)

Anderson is probably the #1 3B I would trade for. He won’t be easy to get due to his overall, potential and contract (and the Marlins refusing to take salary), but he’s a decent hitter and one of the best fielding 3B in the game. And he’s only going to get better.

Miguel Andujar (NYY) – Age 25, Overall 78, Potential B, Contract $584K (3 years ARB)

Andujar is an interesting 3B to trade for. He’s young and under control, but only really has a strong arm on the defensive side. Offensively his best rating is 89 contact vs R, but is in the 60s with contact vs L and power ratings. He is a clutch hitter, so I traded for him and stuck him in the 6 spot in my lineup.

Brett Baty (NYM) – Age 20, Overall 63, Potential A, Contract $100K (2 years RNW, 3 years ARB)

Not sure how far away he is, but he’s a piece for the future or a team rebuilding. He’s only 20, but already has decent ratings hitting and fielding. He’ll grow into a fantastic 3B, but he’ll cost a lot.

J.D. Davis (NYM) – Age 26, Overall 77, Potential B, Contract $584K (1 year RNW, 3 years ARB)

Davis sports good hitting ratings and arm strength, and can also play 1B and LF. He’s cheap and under control and shouldn’t be too hard to nab. Good get if you need a 5 or 6 hitter at these positions.

Austin Riley (ATL) – Age 22, Overall 74, Potential A, Contract $584K (2 years RNW, 3 years ARB)

With defensive ratings in the mid-70s to low 80s, Riley can also hit for some power (66 vs R, 69 vs L). He’s another tough get, due to age, potential and contract, but he’s great for a rebuilding team or if you have enough other good hitters in the lineup.

Miguel Sano (MIN) – Age 25, Overall 81, Potential B, Contract $8.6M (2 years at increasing cost)

I’m not sure why, but Miguel Sano is always on the trading block. He’s young, and while not cheap, it’s not a crippling contract. He has great arm strength (90), is an elite power hitter (93 vs R, 98 vs L), and can play 3B, 1B, LF and RF, offering versatility.
