Grounded: How to join Xbox Game Preview or Steam Early Access

Grounded has officially launched via Xbox Game Preview and Steam Early Access

Obsidian Entertainment’s survival action game Grounded has released via Xbox Game Preview and Steam Early Access. What this means is that the core game is playable via single player or online co-op although limited in what is available to players at this time.

For instance, players will get a good feel for crafting and base building, although these systems will be expanded upon the full release. Additionally, only the groundwork for the intended storyline is playable but not complete. There are at least 10 insects and three major biomes (the grasslands, the hedge and the haze) currently but there are plans for even more bugs, environments and biomes.

Basically, the Grounded Xbox Game Preview and Early Access is designed to get the game into players’ hands so that Obsidian can begin gathering community feedback and ultimately build a better game. So if you want to join Grounded in Xbox Game Preview or Steam Early Access there are two main ways and both are incredibly easy.

Joining Grounded Game Preview

The Grounded Game Preview is available for purchase for $29.99 via the Microsoft Store. This is for the Xbox LIVE version of the game which will unlock Xbox Play Anywhere. This means you’ll be able to play on Xbox One or PC.

If you’re subscribed to Xbox Game Pass, you can access the Grounded Game Preview for free as part of your subscription, so there’s no additional cost.

Joining Grounded Early Access on Steam

Similarly, you can purchase Grounded as an Early Access Game on Steam. It’s also priced at $29.99 and you can buy it here.

It’s worth noting that Grounded will gradually increase in price throughout early access as Obsidian adds more content and features. So if you want to get in at floor level, right now is the time to do it at $29.99. There’s no timeframe as to when Grounded will leave early access and be considered the “complete” game.
