Playable Champions

Whether it’s through the aforementioned flashbacks or the “time-travel shenanigans,” I would love to see a prequel timeline of Hyrule in which you get to control the four Champions (Mipha, Revali, Daruk, Urbosa) as they each complete a mission to finish their respective Divine Beast. Not only would it give us more insight into each character and not only would it allow us a chance to revisit the Divine Beasts, but it would also give us a chance to actually play as the different Champions — something absolutely no one would be upset about it.

Each Champion could feature their own unique ability you’d have to master in order to complete their task. Mipha could skim across the water; Daruk could brave lava; Urbosa could do something lighting-related like summon electrical currents that allow her to surf metal across sand; and Revali could, of course, fly around.

As you complete each one of these missions, perhaps there could even be something where they leave behind a treasure that, back in the normal time, you could find and access, giving Link a lesser version of their abilities, like flying the way Revali does, as long as your stamina meter permits.
