4. The Last of Us Parts 1 & 2

Yes, this is two games, but I’m grouping them together because I didn’t play The Last of Us Part 1 until the end of May. You read that correctly. The first time I ever played The Last of Us Part 1 was at the end of May 2020. And I’m actually happy I waited because it was nice to finish that game after 25-30 hours and only have a two-week wait to see where the story would go in The Last of Us Part 2.

While I’m just about 6 hours into The Last of Us Part 2 at the time of this article being written, I’m enjoying the evolution of the characters, the game’s systems, and the lush world. It also might be one of the most stressful and beautiful games I’ve ever played. My friend stated it perfectly by saying, “If you told me The Last of Us Part 2 was running on a PlayStation 5, I’d believe you.” It’s that gorgeous.

While I have to play the game in small doses because life is a little too heavy at times, and I need some time to escape from heaviness, I’m looking forward to continuing the story over the next week or two.
