Revamp your town

As I just recently talked about, I’ve been working towards redoing my entire island. I figured nothing would help keep the game fresh than a completely new look for my island. I wanted to do something with a more modern infrastructure and, instead of feeling like I was on a deserted island, feel more like I was living in a more modern town. Complete with the aforementioned bridges.

The first thing I needed to do was to think of a role model and I immediately thought of the museum district in downtown Cleveland near all the colleges. It has wide open streets filled with people. It has art on display from the Cleveland Museum of Art, statues of dinosaurs via the Natural History Museum, small garden displays courtesy of the Cleveland Botanical Garden and a ton of other things. I wanted my island like that so I worked meticulously to make that happen.

I was not disappointed. Suddenly, everything became fresh and new. The whole island had a theme. As you got closer to the museum you’d find more fossils and things like amber on display. There were small gardens with benches. A small area with public outdoor chess boards. And my islanders looked interested in all of it too which made it extra fun.

It was suddenly as if I was in a completely new town. But it still felt lonely. So on to my next step.
