Animal Crossing: New Horizons: Exciting new features and additions revealed through datamining
Datamining the files of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has revealed a bunch of exciting new features and additions coming to the Switch game.
Recently several people, including datamining powerhouse Ninji, have dug deep into the code for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Scouring through its data has revealed many files that heavily hint at things to come. Some of these are even backed up by some of the dialogue NPCs have been dropping. There are some really big ones on the way and below are some of the new features and highlights that are seemingly coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the near future.
Swimming and Diving
One of the things a lot of people noticed was the backwards step Animal Crossing: New Horizons took towards entering the water. Animal Crossing: New Leaf introduced the ability to don a wet suit and swim out into the water, even diving down occasionally to fish up deep-sea life such as fish and vegetation.
Not only does information hint that diving already exist in the code but classifications such as “creatures” and “plants” are tied with it — hinting at Critterpedia entries for deep-sea life.
