John Carlson

No one can ignore the season that John Carlson has had. He has shocked the whole world with how successful he has been. In 69 games Carlson has 75 points (15 Goals, 60 Assists). Those stats are 1.09 points per game. It is a very hard feat to achieve going for point for game. There are usually only a select few who are capable of going point per game. On the flip side John Carlson is averaging a point per game as a defensemen on top of it all. Defensemen aren’t expected to get upwards near 80 points. Defensive are there to chip in, get some assists, and make some scoring chances. John Carlson is the only defensemen in the whole NHL to average over a point per game up to this point.

The NHL season has not officially been completed so who knows how many points he would have ended up with in a full 82 game season. Regardless of the situation, his success this season can not be denied or ignored. This is why John Carlson would make the perfect NHL 21 cover athlete. When you think of big events and big shockers that has happened in the 2019-2020 season, Carlson’s season is definitely at the top of the list. That being said John Carlson deserves to end a career best year by landing on the cover of NHL 21.

Summary

Each one of the players on this list deserve to be on an NHL cover at some point in time. Unfortunately the choice is not in our hands, it is in the hands of EA Sports. There are also players who did not make the list who deserve to be on the cover as well. However, with the NHL 21 cover going to be representing the overall symbol of hockey this past year, one of these five NHL athletes deserves to be on it this year.
