NHL 21: Five potential cover athletes
Leon Draisaitl
Leon Draisaitl has been this years leading point scorer. Draisaitl has a total of 110 points (43 Goals, 67 Assists). He is also the only player to hit the 100 point mark this year. However, if the season were to resume there will most likely be a few more to reach the century mark. Let’s not take away from the season Draisaitl has had though.
How can EA Sports pass up on this year’s leading NHL point scorer? Its hard to believe that they would.
Leon Draisaitl playing with Connor McDavid is obviously a huge advantage for him as well, but you take what you are given. Draisaitl is also only 24 years old and has a lot of talent for such a young age. Theoretically for being so young in age, he hasn’t even reached his max potential yet. That is scary seeing how he has already gotten a career high 110 points in not even a full season.
Connor McDavid was on the cover of NHL 18 a few years ago. I don’t know if EA Sports would want to put another Edmonton Oiler on the cover that close to each other. I know that type of stuff doesn’t always play into who gets on the cover of video games, but EA might be looking to spread the cover around to different teams. Who knows. All I know is that you can’t keep the leading NHL point scorer out of the overall discussion for the NHL 21 cover athlete.
