Friday Night Magic to continue at home through June 1st
Wizards of the Coast, through their Wizards Play Network channel, announced that in-store events, like Friday Night Magic, will continue to be suspended through June 1st.
Due to the continued precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic, Wizards of the Coast has decided to continue the suspension of Friday Night Magic and other in-store events. While many fans and players of Magic: The Gathering are eager to get back to their local game stores to play, the safety of our community is most important at this time.
The only official Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths event still taking place will be that At-Home Prerelease event. All other events are suspended, though Wizards is encouraging local game stores to continue engaging with their Magic community. Events like Friday Night Magic are now being held at home with the help of Discord and Magic Arena. WPN is helping local game stores by partnering with Discord to offer templates for servers for people to virtually gather and in-game rewards.

Stores will be able to use the At-Home Prerelease sales to record their normal prerelease records, but any future allocation that would use that data will instead use the highest attendance from the last three sets. This is the time, more than ever before, for players to preorder their Magic cards—most game stores are closed for the day to day business and are looking at new ways to bring in some income to stay afloat during this pandemic. If your thinking that now is the time to find those missing cards, calling up stores to see if they have a specific item in stock for curbside pickup may not be the best thing for them—but preorders and gift cards are very good ways to help your local game store!
