New Xbox One games: Minecraft Dungeons highlights a quiet May

After a brief delay, Minecraft Dungeons will make its highly anticipated debut on Xbox One in May. Check out what other new games are coming.

Minecraft Dungeons was originally supposed to release in April but a last-minute delay pushed it back to May, giving us something to look forward to in what otherwise would’ve been a dead month for Xbox One. It wasn’t supposed to be like this though; Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers was also supposed to release in May before getting delayed until September.

So here we are approaching May with really only Minecraft Dungeons to look forward to. Sure, there are some other titles coming to Xbox One in May, but this probably the biggest one.

For those unfamiliar, Minecraft Dungeons is a multiplayer action-adventure inspired by classic dungeon crawlers. As the name suggests, these dungeons are set in the Minecraft universe.

Minecraft Dungeons is playable solo or with a team of up to four friends online or in couch co-op. Given that we’re social distancing these next few weeks, online might be the way to go unless you’ve got siblings.

Whether it’s melee swings, ranged attacks or tanky shields, you’ll be able to personalize your character with unique items and weapons. The goal of the game? Conquer these dungeons on your way to defeating the evil Arch-Illager.

While Minecraft Dungeons is probably the biggest title releasing for Xbox One in May, it’s not the only one. Here’s what else is coming:

  • The Persistence – May 21
  • Maneater – May 22
  • Monstrum – May 22
  • Saints Row: The Third Remastered – May 22

Besides Minecraft Dungeons, I’m probably most looking forward to Saints Row: The Third Remastered. I absolutely loved that game when I played it back in 2011 on Xbox 360. I can’t wait experience all of the over-the-top action and ridiculous humor for a second time. What games are you looking forward to playing on Xbox One in May?
